YouTube links

Thanks are due to YouTube and particularly this terrific site EuroCineChannel  (http://www.youtube.com/user/EuroCineChannel?feature=watch), with lots of optional titles with English sub-titles - thanks to Daryl and Jerry for recommendations.

Great to see my favourite LES DRAGUEURS from 1959 (as per other posts on it here, French label) with sub-titles, as I only had the French version. Anouk Aimee and Belinda Lee are both terrific in their scenes of this 1959 Paris by night saga.

Theres's also the young blonde Jacques Perrin and Catherine Deneuve in SATAN LEADS THE DANCE (ET SATAN CONDUIT LA BAL)  from 1962, a Vadim production ...

Franju's THERESE DESQUEYROUX, also 1962, with a stunning main performance by Emmanuelle Riva as Francois Mauriac's doomed heroine, with Phillipe Noiret, Sami Frey and Edith Scob. (Franju of course directed a favourite of ours, EYES WITHOUT A FACE ... also at French label.) I shall enjoy watching that later ...
Vadim's 1960 DANGEROUS LIAISONS, (LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES) which I had been meaning to review soon on disk, with Gerard Philipe in his next to last role, opposite Jeanne Moreau as Madame de Merteuil, with Jean-Louis Trintignant, and that soundtrack by Thelonius Monk.
There's also UN SOIR, UN TRAIN with Montand and Anouk, which I also had lined up to watch.

PLEINS FEUX SUR L'ASSASSIN, another Franju suspenser I am looking forward to, from 1961 - written by Pierre Boileau & Thomas Narcejac ("Vertigo", "Les diaboliques"). It stars Pascale Audret, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Marianne Koch, Pierre Brasseur.

Others available here are CHAIR DE POULE, Duvivier's 1963 very black thriller with Robert Hossein and Jean Sorel (review at Sorel label), Delon in Clements' THE JOY OF LIVING, a favourite Visconti: 1965 SANDRA (left) with Claudia, Sorel and Michael Craig - as per comments at any of their labels), also Claudia in TIME OF INDIFFERENCE, plus De Sica's CONDEMNED OF ALTONA and scenes from Visconti's SENSO, THE STRANGER and THE LEOPARD! - reviews at Italian label.

There's also several I have not seen here including Catherine Deneuve in BENJAMIN and Florinda Bolkan in ONE EVENING AT DINNER, Bresson's FOUR NIGHTS OF A DREAMER and others.   Happy viewing then ...
